“Even through the tough times in life, what’s important is to go through everything with a smile on your face.”
Not every day is the same — and I believe it shouldn’t be. But there are periods in life when you hit rock bottom, and everything feels like it’s crashing down. You feel completely lost — useless, even — and worthless. You’re unsure of what the next comeback looks like. So, you wait.
I feel like I’ve hit one of those low phases in my life. I’m totally clueless right now. It seems like everything is falling apart. Everything feels like it’s pulling me down.
It’s not that life is unbearably bad — it’s not the end of the world — but deep down, you know this isn’t your true self. This isn’t the level of potential you know you’re capable of. And that feeling hurts the most. You put in the effort, and maybe even see some satisfactory results, but there’s always that lingering voice saying — you can do better.
This piece isn’t a guide or a motivational list of steps for a perfect comeback. I’m still figuring things out myself. This is simply a message for anyone who might be going through something similar — a reminder: you are not alone.
I came across a beautiful quote:
“Even through the tough times in life, what’s important is to go through everything with a smile on your face.”
That struck a chord with me. Personally, I’m someone who tries to smile through most situations. There’s something powerful about smiling, even in the darkest of times.
But that doesn’t mean other emotions don’t matter. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel frustrated. It’s okay to feel lost.
What matters is trusting yourself. Believing that a greater comeback is still ahead. That you can build a version of yourself that’s even better than the best version you’ve known before.
Sure, there will be days when you won’t feel strong enough to rebuild. Days when even trusting yourself feels hard. And whether others believe in you or not — you have to be the first person who does.
This is where I am — in my comeback phase. I don’t know how long it will take. I don’t know what version of me will emerge. But what I do know is this — I’m going to trust myself through the process and work on myself, no matter what it takes.
