Healing: An Ever-Growing Journey

I used to think that once you healed your internal wounds, life would be perfect — smooth, effortless, and full of peace. I believed that spiritual growth meant leaving all pain behind. But I was wrong.

Think about it — can you ever be completely free from physical illness unless you’re dead? No, right? Then why would it be any different for emotional or mental wounds?

Healing isn’t a one-time event; it’s an ongoing process.

There are moments in life when things don’t go as planned. Sometimes, situations crush us, leaving us broken, lost, and carrying emotional baggage that feels too heavy. We withdraw, just like a tortoise retreating into its shell when the world feels unsafe. And then, one day, we reach a breaking point — we can’t carry that weight anymore. That’s when the journey of healing begins.

We start doing things for ourselves — meditation, journaling, self-care. We take advice from friends, from the internet, from wherever we can. Slowly, we begin to heal. We see things differently, understand our part in past events, and recognize our mistakes. And then, one day, we walk away from that baggage, feeling lighter, stronger, and at peace.

But healing isn’t a final destination. Life has its own plans. Days, months, or even years later, something will happen, and — boom! — that familiar pain resurfaces. And you might think, “Not again!” But this time, you’re stronger. It still hurts, but now you tell yourself, “This too shall pass. I trust myself.”

And that’s the beauty of healing. Even when you get hurt, even when you feel broken, even when everything seems to be falling apart — there is a trust in yourself that wasn’t there before. Instead of waiting for someone to tell you, “Hey, I trust you,” you say it to yourself, “I trust myself. I can handle whatever comes my way.”

This time, you know what you need to heal. You understand yourself better. You recognize what makes you feel at peace and what doesn’t.

You begin saying “no” to things that drain you, and “yes” to the things that uplift you. You start prioritizing yourself. You open your heart to those who are truly there for you and walk away from those who only take from you without giving back. You pick up the passions and dreams you once left behind. And once again, you embark on the beautiful journey of healing.

It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Each time you heal, you discover something new about yourself. Sometimes, life teaches us simple lessons in the hardest way. But that’s okay. We are all living life for the first time. We make mistakes. And just as we forgive others, we must learn to forgive ourselves and move forward.

Yes, it’s easier said than done. But we have to try — that’s what life is all about.

You walk, you fall, you stand up, and you keep walking again.

And when it gets overwhelming, it’s okay to talk about it. It’s okay to vent. When you share your emotions with the right person, you’ll never feel guilty for expressing your truth. Vulnerability strengthens bonds, not weakens them.

With all this, I hope you continue to grow stronger, to heal, and to become the best version of yourself. May God or the Universe give you challenges — along with the strength to overcome them — to shape you into a wiser, kinder, and better person.

Take care, and keep walking forward.
